"As it approached the town of Newport, the UP #4014 slowed to just a crawl on its way across the old bridge across the White River. The concrete spans took the engine from its embankment and over a convenient viewing location before the train would slowly rattle across the 1938 metal truss swing bridge. As dragonflies crowded us and steam hissed just feet above our heads, we got to witness the largest steam locomotive from a very unique viewpoint down there."
