"Sister Speed" - Print
Although the era of the RoadRailer has come to an end, we'll be remembering these unique trains for years to come. One thing that definitely won't be forgotten is what it took to chase down these trains to get photos - they were fast! Catching up was an incredible challenge, and you needed a lead foot and then some if you had a hope of keeping up. NS1069, painted in the distinctive black and yellow of the former Virginian Railway, had the honours on the westbound 255 RoadRailer in excellent conditions, and that was one I would definitely be tracking down at speed. Lanesville was a close call, but thanks to a liberal application of throttle, I had just enough time to get into position to snap the train passing by the old silo. The train isn't the only thing that can go fast after all!
