"The Great BCOL Swindle" - Print
Based upon the way the (at the time) newly minted CN 3115, the BC Rail heritage unit, was moving up the Illinois Central mainline, it was assumed it would be facing forwards as it headed south on the Gilman sub. It, unfortunately, did not. However, it was set to lead north that way, and as it filled the air lines of its grain train in Gibson City, IL, the sky seemed to glow pink and orange with the slowly descending sun. We may not have gotten the shots we originally desired, but we did get something else quite special out of the affair.
